Yes, I realize it is almost February, but it is what it is!
So, our Christmas was wonderful. Maybe I am still recovering and that is why this post is so late.
We started the weekend with our wonderful Christmas Eve service. The girls sang 3 songs and they did a great job.
Jesus is sleeping
"Knock, knock, knock on the stable door"
Christmas morning. The girls got up and got dressed in their church dresses. Bennett was decidedly more casual.
It is safe to say the girls were excited!
Santa left his toys in the basement again. Here were are uncovering the loot.
Jumping up and down with excitement.
Looks like the Leapad was a hit!
Bennett is not sure what to make of it. He was very overwhelmed. He would just start crying at times. To be fair, I had just taken away his morning nap, so he was probably tired. Gigi is trying to entice him with his car carrier.
He was into his basketball hoop a little.
Getting the hang of the remote control train.

Here is a happy face. A little blurry, though.
Playing the Leapad
Bennett has given up on Christmas and just wants to watch TV.
Caga and Miriam came over and we had our usual breakfast of baked French toast and chicken sausage. We moved into the living room for family presents.

Here is B making his "cheese" face.
This was maybe my favorite moment of the day. Brittany was telling the girls that they let their boys buy each other a present. I hadn't thought of this. So I went with Carly, and Joiner with Gigi. It was the first present they each opened and they were so excited. Carly has mentioned repeatedly how she felt when Joiner opened her present. She will say that she felt like she might cry. It was such a great lesson in how it feels so much better to give than to receive.
We gave Andy a remote control Camaro as a joke and Bennett loves it.
Putting on our make-up that we gave each other!
We headed to church and Gigi and Grumpa stayed with B. They walked and played. It was so nice to go to church to worship on this most special of days!
Gussy came with Gigi and Grumpa. Bennett was just enamored with him. Yes, we have two dogs, but this dog was newish and he just kept laying on him and chasing him. Gus is such a wimp though, and would run away when he came around!
After good naps we headed our to Jarrett and Miriam's beautiful home for Christmas dinner. We had a large variety of meats and sides. The men watching the carving of Caga's turkey and the standing rib roast.
Gigi and the kids playing.
Family portrait for 2011
With our hosts. Notice two of our kids eyes are closed. Bennett in his 'cheese" face and Joiner because that's her.
Joiner and I went out first thing Monday morning to get Christmas lights for the new house. We happened to find this Santa inflatable at 50% off and we couldn't pass it up. Santa waves, the headlights actually work, and a present spins. Needless to say, they all like it!
