Happy Birthday Carly and Joiner!

Last Sunday my babies turned 5! How does that happen? They have never been more excited in their whole lives for a day to come. Mamie, Pops, and Robert came to celebrate with us for the weekend, so they were there for our birthday breakfast. We had our traditional cinnamon rolls with a candle and eggs.

Here is Joiner with her birthday shirt.

This was the first year they have really gotten a "big" present. Andy and I gave them a new kitchen complete with sushi and brownie sets. Keep in mind these kids really do LOVE sushi. Mom gave us a kitchen that her preschool was throwing out a few years ago, so this is really the first modern kitchen the girls have had. They love it. I think there is really only one good thing about having your kids' birthday RIGHT before Christmas and that is they have all these new toys and play so nicely together right now and don't ever seem bored.

Our girls also LOVE crafts. My fridge is filled at all times. So we also gave them a new cork board to hang all the art work that they make. Andy hung it up for them last night. But, alas, I forgot to buy tacks, so we can't hang anything, yet.

Opening the new Melissa and Doug toys. The sushi kit is so funny. It even has a little ginger strip and wasabi lump.

Happy girls

Already cooking!

Mamie and Pops brought some Ramona books that they have really wanted

Joiner was SUPER excited about the new Wii Just Dance for kids! I think we have played it every night but Friday when my Youth group had our Wii.

We had a big party with all our old friends and BOTH classes of kids at the Y. It was so much fun. We had a bounce house and lots of games for the kids. Surely everyone left really tired. Unfortuneately I couldn't find my camera battery charger and I couldn't take a bunch of pictures. Mary helped me out and I will post them when I get them over Christmas. Both girls have gotten into Tinkerbell big time this year. This is a great example of Disney marketing because they have only seen 1 of the movies once! Anyway, Gigi and Grumpa brought all the Tinkerbell fairies and several friends brought other Tinkerbell items. And the piece d'Resistance were the Tinkerbell costumes. Both girls got to pick a birthday meal place. Joiner picked Mooney's the Mediterranean restaurant, we call it the Baba Ghanoush place, and we went there for lunch on Saturday. Carly picked Panera Bread and we went there with Gigi, Grumpa, Margaret, and Bruce after the party. All 3 kids were running on fumes, but we dressed for the occasion!

The National Skating Championships are being held in Greensboro in January and Margaret and Bruce gave the girls tickets for a show. Margaret made these great color papers and cards to tell them about it. They are so excited and scream when they see the billboard for it on Silas Creek Parkway. Here is Carly with her pack.

As we were leaving Panera the snow started to fall. Big fluffy flakes that didn't stick but made a great end to a great day! I love you sweet girls!
