So Margaret mentioned how much Bennett looked like Carly on the mat. I thought I would put pictures of the girls with their first smiles.

A Bunch of Pictures
So I am back to work and that eats into all of my available blog time. I have several pictures and I thought I would just lump them all together.
Here are Carly and Bennett on the mat. The poor boy doesn't get much alone time. Someone is always touching him. The girls are very sweet with him though, and love him very much.
Mamie and Pops came for a quick visit last week. Mamie brought fairy skirts that she had made. Here is Joiner in hers.
We went to the Apple Festival at Bethbara Park on Saturday. We ate a picnic lunch we brought while listening to the Blue Grass music. Here are Carly and Pops.

Dance class
Carly and Joiner had their first Dance class on Tuesday. They have been in Dance Camp for the last two summers, but this was the first time taking real lessons. They have been so excited. Their class is an hour and they do ballet, tap, and acrobatics (gymnastics.)
Here we are in our gear before we left the house. (This picture makes it look like Carly towers over Joiner, but she is standing on our little carpet by the fireplace)
Here we are leaving class. I have nothing in between. I didn't get my camera out fast enough when they went into class and you can see the blinds on the windows. I knew it wouldn't turn out if I tried to take a picture. Plus, every time I tried to look in, they both stopped what they were doing to wave at me. Oh, well. I spent most of the hour trying to get Bennett to wake up enough to eat. Never happened.
One Month Old
I don't know how is has happened this fast, but our sweet baby Bennett was one month old on Wednesday. He continues to be such a sweetheart. He tells you when he wants something or is unhappy, but then it is over. He is very physical and has rolled over since he was 2 weeks old. He puts full weight on both legs. He is a good eater and yesterday at the Dr. weighed 9lbs 11oz.
I did not buy him this hat. Joiner had a birthday party in her class and wanted him to wear it. He looks happy about his sisters dressing him up and that will bode well for him in the future. Joiner made the sign. Bennett looks very proud!
Of course, we all need to be in the mix!
Such a sweet smile and if you look close to that right cheek you can see his dimple; just like mommy.
Big blue eyes
Here is our first action shot. I have tried to get a picture (and don't even get me started on a video) of him rolling over for 2 weeks now. This will have to do. If he is on his tummy, he quickly changes over to his back! The doctor even wondered yesterday if he was about to roll over from his back to front. I hope he stays so chill if he is going to be so busy:)

Meet the Teachers & First Day of School
This was the first week of school for Carly and Joiner at their new school. Tuesday was Open House and we could go meet their teachers and see their classes. The girls are in different classes again this year. Here is Joiner with Carly in her class talking to her teacher Mrs. Taylor. This was also our teacher during camp this summer, so Joiner was relieved that she knew her.
Joiner in her class. Our friend Ellison is also in this class.
Carly picking out her name in her classroom. She has all new teachers and friends in her class and she is really excited.
The first and last day of school this week was this morning. They will be going Mon-Thursday. Here we are outsude our car in the driveway with our supplies. These outfits may look simple, but they were planned and discussed at length!
Outside the car at school. There is a car line, but I wanted to walk them in on the first day. I wanted a picture with the mural in the hall, but that will have to wait. The place was crazy today and I didn't want our crew making it worse!

Joiner finding her cubby and hanging up her things
Carly hanging her things up. Her cubbies didn't have names on them like Joiner's. All part of the different experiences. The school gives them blue tote bags, but they are not in for the new students yet.
One last hug before Carly goes in to her class. They will play together on the playground and that makes them both happy.

Joiner back at her cubby; she wanted to take Carly to her class.
I don't have any pictures of Joiner in her class because she was a little weepy and I got out fast. We all expected Joiner to be weepy, so it went pretty well. Hopefully the tears will lessen each day. She had nothing but good things to say when she got in the car. Carly was equally happy and excited, but with no tears. I think this will be a good fit. I only need to stop my anxiety that this time next year I will have dropped them off at Kindergarten. I may need to be medicated for this transition!

Chilaxing By the Pool
I have been trying to find things that are fun to do at home since we are there so much, so we got out the pool again for some fun and lunch. We also got out the little slide so it was kind of like an amusement park. Bennett and I came outside for lunch, and then we stayed inside and made banana bread in the kitchen where the bugs couldn't get him, but I could see and hear the girls.
I had a raincheck for these Whole Fruit bars and a coupon so they were almost free! And because they aren't too bad for an after-lunch snack, the girls had a special treat!
