Art Show

The girls' school has an Art Show each year that acts as their major fundraiser. There is a silent auction, food, dancing, and all sorts of fun. The best part is the gallery of the kids' art. As it is an arts-based school, the art is really phenomenal. We have loved going each year and we are lucky that all our family comes. This year it was on a Sunday which was tricky for me, but it worked well. Joiner woke up with conjunctivitis, so that was a bummer, but otherwise we had fun.

The work that goes in this show is amazing. Another good part is that the portfolios are on display. This is a folder for each child that the staff keeps which documents all the events of the year for each child. It is a massive amount of work and a wonderful memory.

You can see that Joiner doesn't feel well. We kept her from the kids mostly and she was already on her drops. They are watching Ms Othella's son who is a juggler. She gave in and is sitting with Gigi. Mamie is beside them. Carly is clapping in the front with her friends

Carly performing her son "Friends" with her class. We didn't think Joiner should be holding hands and she didn't want to anyway!

Carly performing her dance with her class. We practiced this at home many times. We are using the streamers that Gigi made for the school.

After the performances came the DJ; no kidding. One of the girls in the "little" class has a dad who is a DJ and he offered his services. Carly loves this little girl and plays with her on the playground each Wednesday.

We went to Moe's for dinner with Mamie, Pops, Gigi, Grumpa, Margaret, Bruce, and their friend Heather. Afterwards we walked over to Carvel to get a little ice cream. I should add that pitiful Joiner ate her entire kids burrito, chips, and ice cream. Food always makes an Evans feel better!
