Playgroup Easter Egg Hunt

I think we have been having our Playgroup Easter Egg hunt at our house for 3 years now. I know it is at least that many. It was so funny to see how much they have all grown this year and how we have added family members and families to the group. Sadly, we have also said "Good Luck" to other families, but all in all, it is a happy memory for me. This year we had tornados and huge thunderstorms on Sunday, so I was worried that the weather might not cooperate. However, Tuesday morning came on and it was beautiful. It was really windy at first, but that died down a bit and the air warmed up and we had a great time. I think this was the first year that there was no delay for finding. Everyone knows what they are doing now, and as soon as we said "go" they were off!

After the hunt we had a yummy lunch and bunny cake. I didn't get my camera out fast enough to catch the bunny cake we made on Monday, but it was enjoyed by all!

Of course the Evans girls are the last two finishing every last bite of lunch and bunny cake!

Soccer Clinic

Carly and Joiner's third season of soccer started on Saturday with a skills clinic for all the Youth soccer kids. They will be on a team with their friends Addison, Jack, and Austin. Andy's spring is pretty busy and so we are not the head coaches this time. I will be assitant coaching, but mainly just helping out where they need me.

The weather was amazing on Saturday. It was over 70 degrees and really sunny. The girls have loved soccer each season and this was no exception. They got up and dressed and were ready to go.

She did this all on her own for her picture. Can you tell we have already taken several sports pictures at 4?

Art Show

The girls' school has an Art Show each year that acts as their major fundraiser. There is a silent auction, food, dancing, and all sorts of fun. The best part is the gallery of the kids' art. As it is an arts-based school, the art is really phenomenal. We have loved going each year and we are lucky that all our family comes. This year it was on a Sunday which was tricky for me, but it worked well. Joiner woke up with conjunctivitis, so that was a bummer, but otherwise we had fun.

The work that goes in this show is amazing. Another good part is that the portfolios are on display. This is a folder for each child that the staff keeps which documents all the events of the year for each child. It is a massive amount of work and a wonderful memory.

You can see that Joiner doesn't feel well. We kept her from the kids mostly and she was already on her drops. They are watching Ms Othella's son who is a juggler. She gave in and is sitting with Gigi. Mamie is beside them. Carly is clapping in the front with her friends

Carly performing her son "Friends" with her class. We didn't think Joiner should be holding hands and she didn't want to anyway!

Carly performing her dance with her class. We practiced this at home many times. We are using the streamers that Gigi made for the school.

After the performances came the DJ; no kidding. One of the girls in the "little" class has a dad who is a DJ and he offered his services. Carly loves this little girl and plays with her on the playground each Wednesday.

We went to Moe's for dinner with Mamie, Pops, Gigi, Grumpa, Margaret, Bruce, and their friend Heather. Afterwards we walked over to Carvel to get a little ice cream. I should add that pitiful Joiner ate her entire kids burrito, chips, and ice cream. Food always makes an Evans feel better!

Symphony Circus

Mamie and Pops gave the girls Discovery Series Symphony tickets for Christmas. It was really great. It was great music and wonderful dancers and the girls really had a ball. This theme was the Circus and the dancers were dressed as clowns as you can see. There are 3 shows in the season and I definitely think we will get season tickets next year. The only bad thing is the time, 2pm, because the girls still nap and they were really tired by that night. By the sounds of all the other kids there, everyone was in need of a nap. I wish they had a 10am time. Oh Well!
