Flower Girls

The big wedding was almost two weeks ago. It was a really fun weekend with a few bumps. The rehearsal dinner was so nice and a great time to see people we hadn't seen in a while. Both Jarrett and Miriam looked wonderful. Then poor Miriam got really sick on Saturday. She is a trooper and got through the ceremony and it looked like she managed to have fun at the reception. It was fun to see even more people at the reception and it was a really good time. All their hard work and planning paid off and it was a beautiful night. Miriam looked gorgeous despite feeling crummy.

Here are our beautiful flower girls with fellow flower girl Kaitlyn, Miriam's niece. Our friend Carla made these beautiful dresses. They looked like angels. A friend of Miriam's was going to "do"the girls' hair and I had no idea what you could do with a 4 year-olds hair. Wow.The updos from the back. Again, wow!

On to the reception. Margaret is holding Bennett and the girls are eating of course!

Joiner with her cake. Best part of the evening for her.

The beautiful couple before they cut the cake.

Cutting the cake

Now it was time for dancing. Our girls are so different. Joiner wanted to dance with only adults, like Daddy and Grumpa. Here she is with Daddy, who looked super handsome in his new suit!!

Carly, on the other hand, was in a huge mosh pit the whole night with her 2nd cousins.

Joiner with Grumpa, who was only happy to oblige!

Here are Tom and I dancing. (He probably regretted this later as I felt terrible and got home with a 102 degree fever. I am still not back to my old self. I think he is still well, though)

Watching the bouquet and garter toss.

This is how we all felt by the end of the night. All of us except Carly. She was dancing and running around till the end. Bennett went home with Mary and Tom about 9 and we all got home about 10:30. Joiner was pooped!
I had such high hopes for a wonderful family portrait in all our finery. Unfortunately, it all went too fast. It might not be a bad thing since I was so swollen and sick. But I still would like the memory.
Congrats to the new Mr and Mrs. Dineen!

What Do Carly & Joiner Do?

Whatever Mommy does...

This is the scene around here while I try to feed Bennett. Don't worry, I asked her if I could take the picture.

Meanwhile Carly is "paying bills." I swear they never see me do this, but that is what she said she was doing.

Beautiful Girls

Miriam took these great pictures of the girls on Halloween. I didn't get them before I posted the Halloween post, but they are just too good to miss. The only thing I don't like is that they are definitely not babies any more. They are firmly "big girls" now. Sigh...

Halloween Fun

We began celebrating Halloween by carving pumpkins about 2 weeks ago with Caga and Miriam at their beautiful new house. Miriam made us the most wonderful butternut squash and black bean chili that was even served in real pumpkins. Then we moved onto the deck to carve the pumpkins. You can see that the girls were so excited that they were jumping up and down.
Andy can't stand the smell of pumpkin, so I was outside with the carving guy, Jarrett. The girls loved scooping out the junk, which was just fine with Andy. I hope Jarrett will carve pumpkins with them every year if something ever happens to me. I don't think Andy could do it.

Our school had a fish fry and Trunk-or-Treat on Friday night. Mamie made the girls fairy skirts when Bennett was born and Ellison gave them two sets of wings that she didn't like. The girls decided to be ballerina fairies, so they wore their leotards too. Carly is in the purple and Joiner is here in the pink. You have to know Joiner to know why she added the hat!

Joiner is so happy to get the candy

The fairies with Bennett. He has a monkey csotume, but we saved it for Halloween night

He was perfectly happy without a costume! He loved to people watch.

After the trunk-or-treating the girls discovered the booths. We can't be near face painting without getting our faces done. Here Carly is watching Joiner

Now it's Carly's turn

Joiner's butterfly (she picks that every time)

Carly's flower. She had all this gitter and even a stone on it. Very elaborate.

Now, if you know Andy, you know what his favorite part of the night was....FISH FRY. So he bought tickets for us to eat as he parked the car. When it was getting dark, we headed in with the Townsends to get our food. Carly has gotten into hotdogs(yuck), thanks to school, so that is what she got. The rest of us got fish and it was really yummy. Bennett thought so too!
Here are the kids with all their loot

We went to Leah's church on Saturday night for the Fall Festival she plans, but it was too dark to get any good pictures. So for Halloween, we got all dressed again for round 3 of Halloween fun. Andy was in bed with a cold, so the kids and I headed to the Townsend's for dinner and trick-or-treating. This time my little monkey was there! Look how cute!

The first house

The girls with the big pumpkin

I think this house was the favorite because they each got a full pack of silly bands! Wow!
Say cheese. There is no hope of all of them looking at the same time. I am shocked that Joiner is looking at me!

Here's the monkey. I would just hear him talking and laughing as he was watching all the lights and people.

Now that we get it, we are running!

Trying to get another group shot
Just a few more houses
Kinda looking
We came in and everybody got to pick one piece to enjoy. This selection took a few minutes!

Bennett and mommy. My teeth look really terrible here, but I am posting it anyway.

We headed home and after getting all three clean (and 1 fed) and in bed, I was exhausted. At least there was a little bit of candy to revive me:)
