Baseball Game

We went to a baseball game in the new stadium on Friday. The girls were so excited. They have been watching it be built over the last few years when we go to Mom and Dad's and to the Children's museum. It was Chick-fil-a Family night so there was a deal on tickets, meals, and hats. We got there really early because the only seats we could get were on the lawn. It turned out to be really nice though. We were able to walk around, play, and stretch out.
We are in line with our tickets and Joiner kept saying that she was so excited.

The lawn was more like a hill, but it was still nice. We were about the 1st or 2nd people there, but it was a sold out game. It was packed by the end!

Haircut and Young Chefs Academy

On Friday, we had a very busy morning. I had to reschedule a Drs. appt because of a school field trip so the girls went to the appt. with me. Then we headed down the street to get their hair cut with Amber. Their hair was almost to their waists, so we took a bit off. You can look at the pictures below, but without the straightening, it is about 2 inches below their shoulders.
Both girls are huge talkers. I mean there is never silence when they are awake. However, put them in the salon chair and they freeze. No talking. They don't even move. Here is Carly getting her hair cut and she was a statue.

Joiner on the other hand was talking for both of them as she was waiting on her turn. She has started smiling with her eyes almost closed!

After the haircut we headed to the Young Chef's Academy to make pizzas for lunch. This is a little place where they teach kids to cook and give them some freedom. It was a lot of fun, but it took a long time. Their pizza was ready at about 1:45, so both girls were really hungry. It was a nice experience and we thank Mrs. Stefanie for setting it up for our group!

We went straight home and to bed, but it was fun!

Visit with Mamie and Pops

We went to Stone Mountain about a week ago to see Mamie, Pops, and Robert. It was a nice visit and we had a good time.

We went to the Center of Puppetry Arts on Friday to see a show and the Henson exhibit. I was about to take a picture of Joiner with Big Bird when someone stopped me to tell me that everything was copy-writed and no pictures were allowed. We were able to take a picture of our family before the show, so here it is. The puppet show was amazing and the girls have talked about it a lot.

Saturday was a really beautiful day so we headed to stone Mountain park to walk the nature trail.

Carly; I guess she didn't want me to take her picture.

Pops and Joiner. I think Carly took this picture.

We found this big rock by the train tracks. Mamie must have let then jump off a hundred times. Here is Joiner airborne.

Carly, and you can see Joiner climbing back on her another turn.

Joiner is showing us which way the path goes. Such a little lunger! It must be all our practice in the back yard!

The ride home! How did they get this big?

See you soon Mamie, Pops, and Robert!

Gallery Hop & Ice Cream Shop

The girls' school took a field trip today to Old Salem and to the Salem Fine Arts Center to view their Art Show in the gallery.

Our first stop was Winkler's Bakery where we watched bread bake.

Here is the group in an open field by the bakery getting some energy out. The girls and some friends watching a Brother weigh bread dough.

Joiner running in the field with her friends. It is a beautiful day and they loved running through the grasses.

Listening to Mrs. Othella talk about the trees

At 10:30, the snack was an ice cream cone from the Mayberry's above Winkler's. They each had to order and pay for their own. Here is Joiner placing her order for a strawberry cone.

Check out that scoop of strawberry (and the face)!

Joiner was the first in line so she was eating while the rest of her class watched her!

Carly paying for her ice cream

Carly getting her chocolate cone from Mrs. Chela. She was the only kid to pick chocolate! Just like Mama. However, one smart kid thought to ask for Mint chip and that is what I would have chosen if I was getting any!!

The girls kept saying that they had never had ice cream before lunch before! I thought the same thing!

The crew with their treats

After each child ate their cone (and they all did) we headed over to the Fine Arts Center to see the Art. It has wonderful windows and the art was really showcased. Here is Joiner with her Paper Person and portrait. Joiner picks out her clothes now so don't judge me on the leggings choice.
